Northern Maine Community College Packs Open House with Displays and Demonstrations

Northern Maine Community College will hold Open House for prospective students and families on Friday, October 14 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the campus on 33 Edgemont Drive in Presque Isle.

Visitors are welcome to tour the campus, labs and classrooms in session, see student demonstrations and presentations, and meet with admissions and financial aid staff. Light refreshments will be available and door prizes will be awarded.

“We’re looking forward to having the public interact with students, faculty and staff,” said President Tim Crowley.  “If you haven’t visited our campus in a few years, you will be amazed at the technology available for the 37 degree and certificate programs offered here.”

Demonstrations and displays will be offered including: Diagnosing and Treating a Cardiac Episode; Diesel Hydraulics Diagnostics; Live Fire Burner Demo; Make Your Own Key Tag in the Precision Machining Technology Lab; Prep and Painting a Vehicle; Go Venture Business Simulator; Wind Power Harness and Climbing; Hybrid Vehicle Diagnostics; 3D Mechanical Design Printing and more.

Participants are welcome to tour campus housing options and sign up for door prizes. Those who apply to the College on the day of Open House will have their application fee waived.

NMCC’s programs are designed to enable students to enter the work force with technically-current skills and to prepare students for lifelong learning and career advancement opportunities.  More than 90% of NM’s graduates are employed within six months of their graduation in jobs related to their training or are continuing their education.
