Adjunct Instructors Needed

Adjunct Faculty Needed:
NMCC is seeking highly qualified candidates to expand its pool of adjunct faculty to augment our dedicated full-time faculty and respond to enrollment demands at both our main campus in Presque Isle and Houlton. Successful post-secondary teaching experience a plus.  These are non-benefited positions with teaching assignments on a course-by-course, semester-by-semester basis:

English Composition, Communications, and Mathematics Instructors-

A Master’s degree in the discipline is preferred. Consideration will be given to candidates with a Master’s in any teaching field with 18 graduate hours in the discipline or a Master’s in any teaching field with at least 24 upper division and/or graduate hours in the discipline.

Business & Accounting Instructors-
A Master’s degree in the discipline is preferred.

EMS Instructors-
Maine EMS Instructor Coordinator license and current Maine EMS Paramedic license required. Out-of-hospital emergency field experience required. National registry Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (NREMT-P) or Critical Care Emergency Medical Technician -Paramedic (CCEMT-P) certification preferred. Associate degree or matriculation in an associate program preferred.

Mechanized Logging Operations Instructors (Anticipated Openings)

Northern Maine Community College is seeking applicants for the anticipated opening of instructors for a Mechanized Logging Operations training program.  The ideal candidates will have experience with a variety of timber harvesting technology including operation of current harvesting equipment, GPS expertise, and routine diagnostic/maintenance tools.

These grant-funded positions will assist in the implementation of an established training program at the College to produce professional equipment operators who will work in commercial mechanical forest operations.  This 12 week program will be offered in the Old Town, Maine area during the summer of 2020; occasional travel will be required of the successful candidates.

Preferred qualifications include:  proficiency in logging equipment operations and experience in one or more of the following logging trades: cut to length processor, forwarder, feller buncher, grapple skidder, stroke delimber, crane/slasher.  Candidates should be comfortable working with students and sharing their knowledge and experience with students. Duties will include: one on one instruction in the use of logging equipment, maintenance, tree identification, silviculture plans and trail layout. The ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in written documents and proficient computer skills are also preferred.
