Adjunct Instructors Needed

Adjunct Faculty Needed:
NMCC is seeking highly qualified candidates to expand its pool of adjunct faculty to augment our dedicated full-time faculty and respond to enrollment demands at both our main campus in Presque Isle and Houlton. Successful post-secondary teaching experience a plus.  These are non-benefited positions with teaching assignments on a course-by-course, semester-by-semester basis:

Business & Accounting Instructors-
A Master’s degree in the discipline is preferred.

EMS Instructors-
Maine EMS Instructor Coordinator license and current Maine EMS Paramedic license required. Out-of-hospital emergency field experience required. National registry Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (NREMT-P) or Critical Care Emergency Medical Technician -Paramedic (CCEMT-P) certification preferred. Associate degree or matriculation in an associate program preferred.

CDL Driving Specialist

 

DATE:              August 19, 2022

TITLE:              CDL Driver Training Specialist, Commercial Driving Academy                   

BARGAINING UNIT/SALARY RANGE:             MEA Administrative, Level 2

 

RESPONSIBILITIES:     Under general supervision, is responsible hands-on CDL instruction for the range and road portions of the Commercial Driving Academy.  This position will assist with recruitment and screening of applicants and the development of training schedules.  Frequent In state travel will be expected.  This position will also assist with the delivery of the classroom portion of commercial vehicle training as necessary. May need to work some nights and Saturdays during peak training times.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS: At least 2 years of commercial driving experience as a licensed Class A operator in the past 10 years, and a valid Maine CDL license; no moving violations within the previous 3 years; no suspensions or revocations in the previous 6 years; able to obtain a State of Maine Class B driver education instructor license, with a class A commercial vehicle endorsement.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Knowledge and experience with commercial vehicle driver education; excellent organizational and communication skill, both verbal and written; knowledge of and experience with classroom and hands-on instruction; knowledge and experience with commercial vehicle general maintenance.

SALARY:   This position is an administrative position and is funded with a federal grant.  Continuation of position may be contingent of funding external of the college.

QUALIFICATIONS:       Bachelor’s degree in education, behavioral science, social work or a related field is required. A Master’s degree in similar fields is preferred.

RESPONSIBILITIES:     Identify target student populations as defined by grant, including (but not limited to) those with disabilities, economically disadvantaged, and students in non-traditional programs; provide academic and career counseling/advising for these students; assist students in overcoming barriers to academic and career success; and provide academic advising to Career Technical Education (CTE) and evening student populations.

TITLE OF POSITION:       Workforce Development Coordinator for new Mainers

BARGAINING UNIT/SALARY RANGE:     MEA Administrators Unit (Pending Classification)

RESPONSIBILITIES:  The program coordinator is accountable for providing effective oversight of the Center’s day-to-day operations while building and supporting relationships with external stakeholders including representation from multiple diverse ethnic cultural population, municipals, business, education, service provider, and other leaders in the community. The coordinator will provide one on one case management to each migrant, immigrant and refugee status client that is person-specific and act as a proactive and responsive resource within the region to serve both a diverse immigrant population and stakeholders. The coordinator will be responsible to help integrate international workers sought by private businesses, in fields such as healthcare, forestry, agriculture, education, technology, manufacturing, and call centers.

MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:  A bachelor’s degree; master’s degree in business preferred.

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES:  Excellent organization, interpersonal and communication skills; Effective written and oral communication skills; Ability to plan, implement, administer and evaluate special projects as needed; Knowledge of immigration regulations pertaining to international workers and students.
