Northern Maine Community College will hold Open House 2017 for prospective students and families on Friday, Oct. 13 from 8 a.m. to 6 p.m. at the campus on 33 Edgemont Drive in Presque Isle.

Visitors are welcome to tour the campus, labs and classrooms in session, see student demonstrations and presentations, and meet with admissions and financial aid staff. Dining like a student will be available during a free lunch at Reed Commons and door prizes will be awarded.

“We’re looking forward to having the public interact with students, faculty and staff,” said President Tim Crowley. “If you haven’t visited our campus in a few years, you will be amazed at the technology available for the 37 degree and certificate programs offered here.”

Demonstrations and displays offered include: Preparation and Painting a Vehicle; Solar Array Display; Live Fire Burner Demo; Make Your Own Key Tag in the Precision Machining Technology Lab; Wind Power Harness and Climbing; Hybrid Vehicle Diagnostics and more.

There will be open classrooms for visitors to sit in on the Nursing and Allied Health and Business Technology Departments. Also during the day, staff at the Smith Wellness Center will be conducting tours and equipment demonstrations.

Participants are welcome to tour campus housing options. Those who apply to the College on the day of Open House will have their application fee waived.
