Free-Tuition Raffle for One NMCC Student

June 28, 2019

Aroostook County—Free tuition will be won by one lucky student enrolled at Northern Maine Community College during the upcoming academic year (2019-2020), thanks to a fundraiser by the NMCC Alumni & Friends Organization and the generosity of the College.

“The annual tuition raffle provides an opportunity for our organization to raise funds, so we can better reach out to alumni for special activities and regional gatherings,” explained Tara Henderson-Hayes, president of the alumni group.  “This is the seventh year of holding a tuition raffle.  Each year this raffle makes it possible for at least one student to attend NMCC tuition-free.”

Northern Maine Community College President Tim Crowley has been exceptionally supportive of the idea by agreeing to make the tuition award available and allowing the alumni organization to retain all the proceeds.

“This is an opportunity for the College to support our alumni organization, whose members have been a great resource for us.  They have volunteered their time and expertise to organize several annual events, to help during the annual open house, graduation and much more.  By assisting the group in raising funds, the organization will become more vibrant for their fellow alumni,” said President Crowley.

Tickets are available for a contribution of $10 per ticket and can be purchased from the NMCC development office on campus and from members of the NMCC Alumni & Friends Organization.  You may also purchase tickets online at by clicking on the Donate Now button. Be sure to note “Tuition Raffle” and the name of the student you are supporting.

The winning ticket will be drawn on August 19, 2019.  Ticket sales will end August 16.  One lucky student will receive free tuition for up to 12 credit hours for the fall 2019 semester and another 12 credit hours for the spring 2020 semester, a value of over $2250.
