Dr. Daryl Boucher to Deliver NMCC’s 2023 Commencement Address
Aroostook — Daryl Boucher, EdD, MSN, CCEMTP, NRP and RN, who serves as the Vice President of Operations at Northern Light AR Gould, has accepted an invitation to be NMCC’s 2023 Commencement Speaker and will address the College’s graduating class on May 13th at The Forum in Presque Isle.
Boucher began his education at Northern Maine Technical College where completed his paramedic certificate. He continued his education, obtaining his bachelors of science from the University of Maine at Fort Kent; his masters of science at St. Joseph’s College; and his doctor of education from Capella University. Dr. Boucher worked at NMCC as the program director for nursing, emergency medical services (EMS) and community paramedicine. He also worked at NMCC as a full-time instructor for both the EMS and nursing programs.
Tim Crowley, NMCC President said, “Daryl has an impressive work history in healthcare and the education of healthcare workers. In his 14 years as a faculty member at NMCC he was instrumental in the development of the Paramedic Program, as well as the Nursing Program. In 2012 Dr. Boucher was added to the NMCC Healthcare Wall of Distinction. He is a valuable member of the community and is actively involved in professional, civic and community organizations, and I am pleased that he will deliver the address at this year’s commencement ceremony.”
In a statement released from Boucher after accepting the invitation, he said, “The college has been so instrumental in shaping who I am today. I believe passionately in the Maine Community College mission. More importantly, Northern Maine Community College leaders have demonstrated time and time again their commitment to the Aroostook County community. It is an honor to be asked to be the commencement speaker for the 2023 NMCC graduation.”
“The 2023 graduates are entering the workforce at a time when the need for a skilled and talented workforce has never been greater.” Boucher added. “As speaker, I hope to provide a few words of inspiration to the graduates, but I know those words will likely only be useful for a few hours or a few days. The real inspiration leading to their success has been provided by an incredible faculty, supportive family, and caring classmates. I plan to talk about the importance of fostering supportive relationships to assure future success.”
Dr. Boucher will join NMCC Student of the Year Owen Martin to speak to the graduating class on May 13th. The event will be available for livestreaming on the College’s website, nmcc.edu, and Facebook page.
