• Full-Time Program: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. (8 weeks)
• Evening & Saturday Program: Mondays and Wednesdays, 6:00 p.m.–10:00 p.m.; Saturdays, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m.

December 29, 2025
• Full-Time Program: Monday–Friday, 8:00 a.m.–4:00 p.m. (8 weeks)

Please note: All classes will take place in Presque Isle, ME at Northern Maine Community College

To apply for one of these sessions: We are looking for the best 15 applicants for each cohort; this is a competitive application process. Please fill out this online application form completely (indicate on the form the date that you want).  We will be in touch to schedule a Zoom interview and let you know details on the requirements for drug testing and a DOT physical.

Please have a copy of your high school completion documentation and vaccination records, ready to share with us as part of the admissions process. If you are selected as one of the 15 in a training cohort, we will notify you after the review of all applicants.

Endorsements

Classroom instruction will include logbooks, trip planning, hazmat, and other endorsements for your commercial driving license (CDL).  You will gain hands-on experience both on the driving range and on the road.  NMCC’s Commercial Driving Academy provides a prospective commercial driver with the training necessary to operate a tractor-trailer rig in a safe, skilled manner.

Admission Requirements

  • Personal interview
  • Valid Maine Driver’s License and a copy of your driving record*
  • Pre-entrance controlled substance screen (test must be negative)
  • DOT physical in accordance with the Federal Motor Carrier safety regulations, found to be qualified
  • High school diploma or GED
  • Immunization record
* Driving record will be reviewed in order to meet eligibility requirements.
** MMR (Measles, Mumps, Rubella or titer indicating immunity) and Diphtheria/tetanus given within past 10 years.
Also NOTE: Students will be required to provide their own protective clothing (e.g. steel toe shoes)
