The Department of Arts & Sciences provides quality general education to enable students to think critically, communicate effectively, compute accurately and adapt to change appropriately. Courses are designed to complement specific technical skills and to broaden students' educational backgrounds to meet their needs, as well as the needs of business, industry and the community. The department emphasizes the importance of lifelong learning and the significance of strong ethical and professional values. In addition to offering courses which complement the programs from the college's other three departments, this department offers three programs.
