Emergency medical services is a two-year program designed to prepare individuals for the National Registry Paramedic exam and to be confident EMS team leaders and prehospital practitioners. The curriculum consists of classroom instruction with skills laboratories, in-hospital clinical practice, and supervised field internship.

Advanced cardiac life support, prehospital trauma life support, pediatric advanced life support, and neonatal advanced life support supplement the curriculum. The program follows the National Standard Curriculum of Paramedic Education and includes all emergency medical procedures currently approved by the Maine EMS board for paramedic practice. The program is offered in conjunction with the Aroostook Region EMS Council and Maine EMS.

Several educational options are available to students. The multiple entry/multiple exit program allows students to exit after completion of specific course requirements and be eligible for licensure at the EMT-Intermediate level. Those who continue and complete all EMS courses are eligible for licensure at the Paramedic level. Students completing all EMS courses as well as the general education courses will earn an associate degree in EMS.
