POSITION TITLE: Human Resource & Payroll Coordinator

UNIT: Confidential – Level 1, full time salary position

QUALIFICATIONS: Associate’s degree in Business Administration or related field with a Bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum of four (4) years of payroll processing in a relatively complex business or management environment as well as experience in human resources. Excellent organizational and communication skills needed.

This 40-hour a week position reports to the Director of Finance and serves as the institution’s payroll, human resource, and benefits information specialist. Primary function is to administer bi-weekly payroll in a timely and accurate manner in accordance with state, federal and MCCS policies and to maintain human resource records.

Mechanized Logging Operations Program Coordinator
(Anticipated Opening)

Northern Maine Community College, Eastern Maine Community College and Washington County Community College are seeking applicants for the anticipated opening of Program Coordinator for a new training program for Mechanized Logging Operations.

The ideal candidate will have experience with a variety of timber harvesting technology including operation of current harvesting equipment, GPS expertise, and routine diagnostic/maintenance tools. Leadership experience with forest management techniques, safety and training experience is required.

This grant-funded position will assist in the implementation of a recently established training program at the Colleges to produce professional equipment operators who will work in commercial mechanical forest operations. The successful candidate will also function as lead instructor for the course and serve as a connection between the forest industry and the Community Colleges. It is expected that this training will be offered in several locations throughout the State of Maine; occasional travel will be required of the successful candidate.

Preferred qualifications beyond those outlined above include: experience in project/course planning, organization and implementation; ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in written documents; and superior computer skills. Associate degree or higher academic credential desired.

Adjunct Faculty Needed:

NMCC is seeking highly qualified candidates to expand its pool of adjunct faculty to augment our dedicated full-time faculty and respond to enrollment demands at both our main campus in Presque Isle and our off-campus sites in Houlton, Caribou, Van Buren and Madawaska. Successful post-secondary teaching experience and experience in online teaching a plus.  These are non-benefited positions with teaching assignments on a course-by-course, semester-by-semester basis

English Composition, Communications, Occupational Wellness and Mathematics Instructors

(NMCC, Houlton, Caribou, Madawaska)
A Master’s degree in the discipline is preferred. Consideration will be given to candidates with a Master’s in any teaching field with 18 graduate hours in the discipline or a Master’s in any teaching field with at least 24 upper division and/or graduate hours in the discipline.

Business & Accounting Instructors (NMCC and Houlton)
A Master’s degree in the discipline is preferred.

Occupational Safety Instructor – NMCC campus only
Applicants should be qualified to teach OSHA General Industry 30 and 10 hours courses. Certification to teach OSHA Construction 30 hour course is a plus.

EMS Instructors
Maine EMS Instructor Coordinator license and current Maine EMS Paramedic license required. Out-of-hospital emergency field experience required. National registry Emergency Medical Technician-Paramedic (NREMT-P) or Critical Care Emergency Medical Technician -Paramedic (CCEMT-P) certification preferred. Associate degree or matriculation in an associate program preferred.

EMS Lab Instructors
Current Maine EMS EMT-Intermediate or Paramedic license required. Three years of out-of-hospital emergency field experience at Advanced Life Support (ALS) level required. National Registry or Critical Care certifications preferred. Job duties would include lab instruction only.
