RESIDENT DIRECTOR

The NMCC Department of Residential Life is seeking applications for the position of Resident Director.  Primary duties include: Live-in position that requires non-regular hours (nights and weekends) with on call supervisory responsibilities of college resident halls, staff selection and training and student development.  Individual oversees resident hall openings and closings.  Position is on a rotating on-call duty schedule.  QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of 1-2 years of college residential life supervisory experience (i.e. RA experience) is preferred.  COMPENSATION: Monetary stipend, 9 month contract, 1 bedroom apartment w/all utilities, cable, local phone included, college board plan (when college is operational) and up to 6 NMCC credit hours waived per fall/spring semester.

Mechanized Logging Operations Program Coordinator
(Anticipated Opening)
Northern Maine Community College, Eastern Maine Community College and Washington County Community College are seeking applicants for the anticipated opening of Program Coordinator for a new training program for Mechanized Logging Operations. The ideal candidate will have experience with a variety of timber harvesting technology including operation of current harvesting equipment, GPS expertise, and routine diagnostic/maintenance tools. Leadership experience with forest management techniques, safety and training experience is required. This grant-funded position will assist in the implementation of a recently established training program at the Colleges to produce professional equipment operators who will work in commercial mechanical forest operations. The successful candidate will also function as lead instructor for the course and serve as a connection between the forest industry and the Community Colleges. It is expected that this training will be offered in several locations throughout the State of Maine; occasional travel will be required of the successful candidate. Preferred qualifications beyond those outlined above include: experience in project/course planning, organization and implementation; ability to effectively communicate both verbally and in written documents; and superior computer skills. Associate degree or higher academic credential desired.
